SuperLaserSpool 2.0 is now an INIT file and should be placed in your System Folder. It will be automatically installed when you restart -- you do not need to set it as the Startup application.
• Before installing SuperLaserSpool:
Remove any previous versions of SuperLaserSpool from your hard disk and/or startup disk(s), also remove any previous versions of the LaserQueue desk accessory.
• SuperLaserSpool and MultiFinder users:
Remove 'Print Monitor' and 'Backgrounder' from your startup disk and drag both of them into the Trash can.
• Applications other than Finder and MultiFinder set to be the Startup application.
When an application other that Finder or MultiFinder is set to startup,
SuperLaserSpool 2.0 will ask whether you are using Finder or MultiFinder. If you select MultiFinder with PowerStation as the startup application, do not print until you have launched MultiFinder.
• Suspending installation of MultiFinder by holding down Command (or
Command-M) during Startup.
In this situation, SuperLaserSpool will not print properly under the Finder.
Restart with Finder set as startup.
• Software Supply's Suitcase program users:
Make sure that the Suitcase files you are using contain at least one font or desk accessory.
• Aldus PageMaker users:
SuperLaserSpool relies on PageMaker’s print-to-disk capability to spool its files. There is a known problem in PageMaker 3.0 which causes certain LaserWriter (Plus, NT, NTX) fonts to be downloaded unnecessarily. This slows down spooling but does not affect the quality of your printed output. Aldus is aware of this problem and expects it to be corrected in their next release.
• Vaccine Users:
Vaccine is designed to warn users when certain types of resources are installed into the System. SuperLaserSpool's LaserQueue desk accessory contains one of these resources for drawing its custom title bar. Because of a bug in Vaccine, responding "Granted" to the Vaccine alert may cause a crash. At this time, the solution is to install LaserQueue with Vaccine deinstalled or to use Suitcase.
